Scrap cars at the best prices in Bulgaria

How to get the most out of a scrap car? This is the key question for anyone who has decided to part with their worn-out vehicle. Every driver has invested money and effort in their car and naturally wants to get some of it back when its journey comes to an end. Frequent repairs and their high prices are often a signal that it is time to get rid of the car. At such times, you usually realize that the most practical solution is to hand it over quickly and easily.

Modern technical inspection requirements often stop old cars from driving. After failing the inspection, owners receive a list of unfulfillable conditions that they must eliminate within two weeks. However, with cars over 15 years old, this is almost impossible – their mechanics are outdated, and the parts do not meet environmental standards for emissions and safety. The only reasonable solution for them is scrapping.

Selling the car for parts – what are the options?

Every owner has the right to seek the most profitable solution for their old car. One option is to advertise your car for sale, but this requires time for inspections and money for advertising. This approach is rarely preferred because it is slow and tiring. Another alternative is to contact auto salvage yards or dealers who buy cars for parts. They will give you a quote after evaluating the vehicle.

The problem is that many auto salvage yards only accept cars up to 10-12 years old. Older cars have worn-out parts that are not safe for reuse. Even if some elements are in good condition, most components do not pass quality tests. Therefore, auto salvage yards often refuse to buy them, and the only remaining option is to sell the car as scrap.

How to get the best price for scrapping?

Handing over the car as scrap metal has its advantages – the transaction is quick, and payment is immediate. However, it is important to choose a licensed scrap dealer. Only in this way will you guarantee maximum value for the car. You can request an online estimate based on the weight of the car, and often the offer includes bonuses such as free transportation and full documentation for deregistration from the traffic police.

Be careful with offers – some sellers attract with promises of high prices, but then charge transportation fees or find „defects“ to reduce the amount. Therefore, bet on an established recycler with a good reputation and experience in the industry, who works with a permit for scrap metal.

What documents are needed?

To sell the car for scrap, you must provide one of the plates and identify yourself with an ID card. The documentation for removing the license plates is filled out on the spot. It is not mandatory for the owner to personally hand over the car – another person with their ID card can do this. However, the presence of the owner is required for deregistration from the traffic police.

Make sure that you receive a certificate of termination of registration. With it, deregistration from the traffic police and the municipality becomes hassle-free, and taxes for the car stop flowing. This completes the scrapping process.

Why are documents and transport important?

When looking for the best deal, don’t overlook the details. If the documents are not in order, the car remains in the registers of the traffic police and the municipality, which means ongoing taxes. In practice, it is neither scrapped nor sold. Also, if transport is not included in the offer, you will have to pay for it yourself. Therefore, carefully consider all the conditions before making a decision.
